Wildlife Foxton Trust

At Wildlife Foxton Trust we have the vision of 'Education by Example'. Learn about some of our forgotten fauna (animals) of skinks, gecko, fish - get up close experiences of some of our more common NZ gecko's, skink, native fish, invertebrates.

To learn about some of our forgotten fauna (animals) of skinks, gecko and fish we provide up close experiences of some of our more common NZ gecko's and native fish on display. To also support this learning we provide hands-on opportunities with exotic lizards so children can understand the impact that introduced species have on our native fauna and their habitats. We have 10 species of native skink and gecko - totaling 40+ animals (which public cannot touch under Wildlife Act), along with 4 exotic lizard species public can touch. Tours last about 30 - 45 mins depending upon attendees attention span with ability to touch exotic lizards as well as photo opportunities. Ideally suited for school age and up, tours are tailored to groups needs.
