De Molen, Dutch Windmill - Foxton

De Molen is a full size 17th century replica Windmill. Visitors can tour the upper levels and see the inner workings of a flour mill. A visit to De Molen is a totally unique experience in New Zealand and a must do if you're passing through Foxton.

For a small donation you can take a self-guided tour of the upper levels and see the working parts of our flour mill. Group visits and guided tours with a trained Molenaar (Miller) are welcomed by prior arrangement. The ground floor of De Molen is home to The Dutch Market. Here you may purchase our stone ground flour, milled right here in De Molen, along with imported Dutch essentials including licorice, Dutch cheeses, croquettes, small goods, groceries and so much more. We also have a selection of De Molen, Dutch and NZ souvenirs. De Molen is part of The Foxton Windmill Trust Inc. a not for profit which also operates Cafe De Molen, serving, a fusion of Dutch/Kiwi cuisine, right next to De Molen. Operated by paid employees and volunteers.
